Katja Mamacos is the founder of Wander Cape Town, a local guide created for people who want to experience more than the usual tourist checklist.

Together with her twin sister, Küra, and contributions from other Capetonians, Katja shares neighbourhood guides, outdoor adventures, local businesses and stories about the natural environment that makes Cape Town so extraordinary.

What caught my attention was Wander Cape Town’s Local Knowledge Project. Instead of pretending that one person can know everything about a city, Katja invites people with real knowledge and lived experience to share what they know.

That is the kind of storytelling I want to celebrate here: local people helping us see Cape Town through different eyes.
